Become a reporter (correspondent) and help the media to talk with refugees and not only about refugees!
The Correspondent is (in our opinion) one of the best Dutch journalism platforms in The Netherlands and we are very proud to be part of this project. Today 47000 readers of The Correspondent received the below article and the request to join this project named ‘New to the Netherlands’.
The readers are invited to search for a status holder living in the gemeente (outside AZC). Refugees and members will stay in contact for 6 months and meet up at least once a month. Together you fill in questionnaires with aim to find out how status holders who have settled since October last year in their new Dutch hometown are doing and report about this challenging start of new life.
Based on the information provided by our refugee members, the journalists of The Correspondent will write articles. Of course no names or pictures will be published and personal information will 100% confidential.
The idea is to do decent research, give you a voice and publish information provided by statusholders themselves! Everything will stay confidential and information will not be shared with the official organizations!
If you like to join this project, keep your eyes open for Dutch people introducing themselves and looking for status holders who like to participate!
If you would like to take part in the New to the Netherlands initiative, keep your eyes open for Dutch people looking for participants. You can also send an email to us at firstname.lastname@example.org including your name and place of residence. We will try to connect you with one of our members in your hometown.
Thanks, shoran, dank je wel!
